As we head into the second half of the season several coaches around the league are feeling not so secure about their job status. With several Super Bowl winning coaches like Bill Cowher, Mike Shanahan, Mike Holmgren, John Gruden, and Brian Billick lingering out there a lot under-performing teams are going to be re-evaluating their head coaches this winter. It is time to start talking about which coaches are dead men walking and which ones have one foot out the door and need to step it up if they want to retain their jobs.

He claims that everyone else on the team is getting better thrown passes than he is and that is why he has caught only 14 of the 37 balls thrown his way.

Heading into week nine the Indianapolis Colts remain as the lone unbeaten team in the AFC with the Broncos holding tight with just one loss. The Bengals and Steelers sit atop the AFC North at 5-2 with the Bengals holding the head-to-head tie-breaker beating the Steelers a few weeks ago. The Patriots sit comfortably atop the AFC East and as long as Belichick and Brady are around they should never be taken lightly. So, the question remains who are the contenders and who are the pretenders in the AFC right now.

Denver closed out the 2008 season losing its last three games failing to make the playoffs for the third consecutive season under Mike Shanahan. This team was floundering in mediocrity.
