One of the biggest debates all through the college football season is who is going to win the Heisman trophy and who deserves to win. Many times those are two completely different debates. The Heisman gets lots of negative publicity as simply a popularity contest and therefore is a meaningless trophy. I will offer up a bit of defense for the Heisman, though not a complete defense because it does have its problems.

The top three front runners for the 2009 Heisman trophy find themselves in a familiar face from 2008. Or will a dark horse candidate sneak in to claim the Heisman?
