Argentina, having qualified for FIFA World Cup 2010 after a gruesome battle through the qualifiers is desperately hoping to repeat the victory last achieved in 1986 and 1978 before that. Leading the team as coach is the legend himself, Diego Maradona. The last major trophy won by the Argentines was Copa America way back in 1993. Currently ranked 8th in FIFA tally and having entered the final four last in 1990 on loosing to Germany in the finals of Italy 1990, this team has a mammoth struggle to make.

Surrounded by the Magaliesburg mountain range is Rustenburg, the oldest town famous for the being biggest Platinum-ore mining site in the world. Rustenburg also referred to as Platinum City, is a quaint little town now gearing up for being FIFA 2010 host city.

Nelspruit, now called Mbombela is a haven for nature lovers and the gateway to the world famous Kruger National Park. Though, there isn't much to do here, I clearly feel that this place has been chosen for FIFA Cup 2010 to clearly promote tourism for Kruger and Mpumalanga province.

Seeing its beginning from the days of the gold rush is Johannesburg, the capital & biggest city of South Africa. Conflicting media reports about the cities' safety measures shouldn't let anyone of you thinking twice about visiting here.

With the groups declared and the world cup tickets selling like hot cakes, every fan is passionately praying and cheering for their favorite team to win. Usually FIFA world cup doesn't have a clear favorite until the last few rounds. I was casually browsing through the list of the past winners a while ago and wasn't surprised to see that South Africa doesn't seem to have a record worthy of mentioning.

Senior by the number of games & entry in the final four thrice since 1974, makes Netherlands the most experienced team in this group of the FIFA World Cup South Africa. They might have a good team to boast of however shrugging off earlier disappointments & an image of losing their morale easily is desperately required.
