You can look at how Google changed the world, however, you may also want to consider one other organization that has also changed things -- mozilla firefox -- consider this - what if you slightly change your topic to "How Google and Open Source Software changed the world" -- just thinking out loud here but you might want to consider it.

Matthew Bib tipped me off to this one -- this add on lets you open an IE tab in firefox. Not sure of the security of it and I want to check it out. My bank only lets me use IE. If it is safe as it look s(15 million downloads) - this is a GREAT tool.

Having a blog action day is just one way to get people to stand up and take notice of an issue.

Great place to teach digital citizenship for students in elementary ages. Schools can sign up for accounts. Excellent place to evaluate as part of how the www is changing the world and how information is moving between children.

I highly recommend that elementary and middle schools at least sign up for a school code for woogi world - this is a great tool suggested by Hoover City schools for teaching digital citizenship. My daughter (my intrepid tester of all kid virtual worlds) loves it and says she thinks it is great for kids.

This organization had people vote on the top elearning tools, while I'd put Diigo FAR AND ABOVE higher than delicious, a lot of people just haven't tried it yet. (I still send diigo links through to delicious anyway.) Some interesting items on here.

Mac OS X

Mac OS X is a line of computer operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Apple Inc.

You an use this site to "drop" or share files on the Internet. It only uses up to 100 MB of space but it still looks like a simple way to share. You can drop files by phone, email, web, widget or fax. Very interesting.

New way for people to share files and it allows sharing via a lot of different ways.

This website had a TON of hits this past month -- in the millions -- 3 people and some spreadsheets did this. (See Tom Hoffman's post for more on it.) I think this is something that the students of the Flat Classroom Project will need to integrate into their work.

A new 3D world to explore. I believe we're going to see an increasing proliferation of these. Linden Labs has had the monopoly (and still does), however, there are some key areas that they have not listened to their users - with the teen and lack of an educational grid as an example.
