This website is from a project similar to our Flat Classroom Project. It has a lot of information regarding the impact social networking has on education at the elementary, middle/high school and college levels.

This is how movements now happen! Redefining Beautiful: One Girl at a Time has girls not wearing makeup on Tuesdays. T-shirts and, of course, social media, characterize what these girls are doing (and the guys who support them.) For pundits who think social media is a negative, this is an example of how this generation redefines the world using social networking to spread statements of a generation more quickly than books can be printed.

Read about this trend. It would make a GREAT movie.

By Wendy Drexler The Networked Student was inspired by CCK08, a Connectivism course offered by George Siemens and Stephen Downes during fall 2008. It depicts an actual project completed by Wendy Drexler's high school students. The Networked Student concept map was inspired by Alec Couros' Networked Teacher. I hope that teachers will use it to help their colleagues, parents, and students understand networked learning in the 21st century.

Interesting service that pulls together all of your networks and posts to them. Just remember that Facebook and some other services make posts from third party services to lower priority and they don't go on as many streams.Interesting service.

Interesting information about the evolution of Social Media/Netorking

Gov. Jay Nixon signed legislation on Friday repealing a contentious law that had limited online chats between teachers and students and had caused a judge to warn that it infringed on free-speech rights. The law, enacted this year, barred Missouri teachers from using Web sites that allow "exclusive access" with students or former pupils who are 18 or younger.
