Print Edit :: Add-ons for Firefox - 0 views

  •
    "Print Edit allows editing of the web page content while in Print Preview mode. Editing the web page prior to printing can compact the layout and remove unwanted content such as adverts, sidebars and blank pages. Print Edit mode is entered from Print Preview mode by clicking on the Edit button next to the Close button on the toolbar. Alternatively, Print Edit mode can be entered from the Print Edit button menu on the main toolbar, or from the Print submenu on the context menu (after right-clicking the web page). The Print Edit button can be added to the main toolbar by right-clicking the toolbar and selecting Customize. In Print Edit mode, any of the displayed content elements can be formatted, hidden or deleted, prior to printing in Print Preview mode. Click the Preview button to return to Print Preview mode or the Close button to return to normal browsing mode. It is possible to switch repeatedly between Print Edit mode and Print Preview mode."

Mozilla Labs » Blog Archive » Major Jetpack Update: The "Future" Edition - 0 views

  •
    People have Jetpacks that do everything from extending the capabilities of the web to adding a Cylon to the browser; from taking snapshots of the current page to controlling music players. In fact, we've had over 40,000 downloads and over 40 Jetpacks (that we know about!) written by people who previously had only written for the Web. And Jetpack is still mainly a technology preview.

Internet Explorer 6 Countdown - 0 views

shared by yc c on 12 Mar 11 - No Cached
  •
    If you've ever designed for the Web, you know what a pain it is to get your work to look right in Internet Explorer 6. It's outdated, and it's not standards compliant, so a design that looks good in Firefox, Chrome, or Safari might look horrible in IE6 (and subsequent versions for that matter). The good news is that Microsoft has started the countdown to the end with a map that shows IE6 browser share around the world. Twelve percent of the world still uses the browser as of February 2011, with a big chunk of that from China.

Wild Fox Project - Front Page - 2 views

  • Why This Project? The Firefox project has opted to exclude certain features due to software patents, patents which are only valid in a small number of countries, including the USA and South-Korea (Wikipedia link). This means that decisions have been made due to patents which do not apply in most parts of the world. The Wild Fox project aims to rectify this by releasing builds with these features included, builds which will of course only be available to those not in software patent-encumbered countries.
  •
    The Wild Fox project ('Wild Fox', or Wx for short), is a project aimed at releasing builds of Firefox which include features the Firefox builds do not include, including AVC (h.264) support with HTML 5 video.
