Burzynski stands to be the first person in history to own the intellectual property rights for a cancer treatment that was not created by a pharmaceutical company. FDA didn't want to approve it.. WHY? Cancer treatment is a billion-dollar industry and the pharmaceutical companies stand to lose if a safe alternative treatment becomes the standard...

All the images are so painfully familiar, so ingrained in our western minds, yet so upsetting and maddening. We close our eyes and cover our ears while our culture is declining because we don't want to know the truth. Instead of helping the ones in need, we lose ourselves in consumption (iPhones, Nike shoes, hamburgers, cars, bars, beauty salons, you name it!). It's time to wake up. Actually, the time to wake up is way past due: we're already late, and the damage is done. It's time for a serious damage control. (What I now have in mind for my creative project will require a portion of Peter Joseph's work).

Apple is going to challenge Pandora and create their own streaming-radio. I don't know if I like where Apple is headed, because they already have to great an influence in the music industry. Plus, this might kill Pandora, for they have pretty shaky licensing pacts with labels as it is.

I know this isn't a remix, but DUBSTEP essentially is a mix of instruments and different music forms. Here is a funny clip of an older generations take on Dubstep music. One man even calls it "metellaickeeerb" metallica mixed with... IDK? 

I really like this article. It's about a Web Remix art exhibit. The artist isn't sure how long he can keep it running since he knows he's infringing copyrights. But his statement below makes so much sense explaining how web collage is a natural derivation of what's online: ""If you see just one video on YouTube, it doesn't make sense to you," Quaranta explained. But as a collection, a thesis emerges."

Another case of youtube visuals making the audio that much better. The whole song itself is played in the background, though, so I don't know how long this will be online. It depends if YouTube's filters detect the song... Thoughts on how YouTube has criteria for videos like this and whether this should be online?

This is an example of Jenkins convergence culture in the fact that it allows someone who may not have let the world know about his life, reveal his story that has now touched many people. As Jenkins says, "every important story gets told." Also, this is another way that Ben Breedlove was able to have social connections. He made more than this one video in which he gave relationship advice to his peers but this video was his last before his heart stopped. This was one video I thought of as I read that article.

The song Somebody that I Used to Know by Gotye is everywhere, including in my head. I found this video jokingly accusing Gotye of stealing the melodies from both Ba Ba Black Sheep and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to make his hit song. Its a funny video but one line in particular stands out in relation to the Letham reading: "I don't wanna live this lie. I wanna be an honest guy." At least the parody version of Gotye is acknowledging his source material.
