iPad storyteller Joe Sabia introduces us to Lothar Meggendorfer, who created a bold technology for storytelling: the pop-up book. Sabia shows how new technology has always helped us tell our own stories, from the walls of caves to his own onstage iPad.
The Peer 2 Peer University (P2PU) is an online community of open study groups for short university-level courses. Think of it as online book clubs for open educational resources. The P2PU helps you navigate the wealth of open education materials that are out there, creates small groups of motivated learners, and supports the design and facilitation of courses. Students and tutors get recognition for their work, and we are building pathways to formal credit as well.
Be creative on the go. With Strip Designer you can create your own personal comic strip right on your iPhone or iPad.
Add photos from you photo album or draw your own sketches. Apply simple image filters to increase the impact of photos, and add speech balloons and text-boxes. Add stickers to get the genuine comic book feel. When you are done, save the resulting image to the iPhone's photo album, email it to friends and family or share it with Flickr, Facebook, or twitter.
Pictello is a simple way to create talking photo albums and talking books on your iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Each page in a Pictello Story can contain a picture, up to five lines of text, and a recorded sound or text-to-speech using high-quality voices. Stories can be shared using iTunes File Sharing or via WiFi with other Pictello users through a free account on the Pictello Sharing Server
One very apparent trend is that some authors only plug their books or related products in their tweets and never provide any other information. These authors were culled from the list in favor of those writers who are trying to carry on a conversation with their followers and present information they might find valuable, whether it directly benefits them or not. After all, why would I want to follow someone who only tries to sell me something?
StoryPagesHD™ is the iPad version of our StoryPages iPhone app. StoryPagesHD was built from the ground up for the iPad! The larger screen of the iPad makes it perfect for anyone that wants to create illustrated stories, storyboards, ad campaigns, or guides of any kind and deliver them quickly and easily. StoryPagesHD lets you create storyboard style pages with your drawing in a top panel and typed text in a bottom panel like a storyboard used during movie production. In StoryPagesHD you can add drawing-only and text-only pages to truly create an illustrated book
