So, let's see… about me: From 1984-2002 I lived in a small town in Northern California. About J's Everyday Fashion Imagine a fashion magazine full of women just like us - moms, college students, professionals, in all shapes and sizes, on a budget and dressing for the challenges of everyday life. There would be no models, no Photoshop, no fancy backdrops, just real women talking real fashion.  I want that magazine to be a reality someday. For now, I bring you J's Everyday Fashion. Not a personal style blog, but the study of one girl's closet. How far can you make a small (couple hundred dollars a month) budget stretch? Do the trends and outfits we see in magazines really hold up in real life? I share it all with you here - the failed attempts, the experiments, the successes, what I wear to events in my own life, but also what I might wear if I were in your shoes (working in an office, being a mom, etc.). This website is all about empowering women - to give them fashion without the frills, that hopefully you can use and apply to your life in a very practical way. I'm Kaelah and this is my little corner of the internets. I am a lover of bulldogs, bubble baths, road trips, dresses with pockets, and adventure. I'm a 24 year old recent college grad with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and I'm living my small business dream. I just opened up a mobile retail shoppe called Honeybean and my heart has never been so full! I bartend on the weekends and design away during the week. I live in a quaint cream colored cottage in East Nashville with my handsome photographer fiance, Mike, and our two fat bulldogs (and a fuzzy cat), and as of February 2012, my sweet little toddler step son. When I'm not perusing the interweb for all things magical you can probably find me at the puppy park or tattoo shop. After two whirlwind summers spent in the art department at BUST magazine in NYC, I am calling Nashville home (until we find our dream home/town to settle down in!).

Well, I've gone and done it. I've started a blog. I think I just have too much to say than can be contained in my laughable ten minute limit on youtube. And youtube is probably where you met me. I am the creator of Lisa Freemont Street and no, my name isn't Lisa Freemont. It's Ashley. The channel name is actually a blend of two of my biggest inspirations: Grace Kelly and Vintage Las Vegas. For those of you who are fellow Hitchcock fans, you probably remember Grace's character in Rear Window-Lisa Fremont. Her grace and poise were beautifully portrayed in that film (along w/ the phenomenal Edith Head fashions she wore) but she also had a spunky, adventurous side that I loved. On the other hand, I also have a pension for glitz and kitch, so I had to throw a little 'Fremont Street' into the mix. Yes, I'm aware of the difference in spelling...but when you type in 'Freemont Street' on google, just WHO comes up? See? There's a method to my madness!

Thanks for coming to Hairdresser On Fire! My work has been seen a little on TV, a little in magazines and a lot on my friends. I started this blog after getting a little tired of the same cut/blow dry combo I was doing all day-every day at the salon. The blog gives me more creative freedom by answering hair questions, posting beautiful photos and filming tutorials.
