About Me Angelica. It means bringer of good news. I try to embrace that. Fashion for me is an individual expression of the inner being that you are. It reflects facets of your personality - your favourite movie, the food you enjoy, your favourite singer, the people who you hang out with and what you think about when you're lying in your bed alone at night and staring at the ceiling. One day I hope to work for Teen Vogue. That is my ultimate dream. However, for now I am learning the ropes in the fashion world. Designers, models, styles, clothing, and sewing - the list goes on. Never be afraid to stand out because it shows people that you are unique and not one of the many crowds. I love Taylor Swift. She is my hero and biggest inspiration. I love my Mom because she is everything to me and I get my style from her. Although, most people say I should have been born in the sixties because I rock a good hippie/bohemian outfit. God is my rock. Jesus is my Saviour not my religion. I fell in love with the man who died for me. God is the one person I can always turn to and He'll always be there for me, no matter what. Time, space and distance don't count. I am where I am now because I love Him and He has done so much for me. I continue to walk in His Destiny for me. Short 'n' sweet: I recently graduated from college with a degree in Marketing and minor in Photography. I have two supportive parents and a brilliant little sister. Pittsburgh, PA is the place I call home. Some may say I'm a bit eccentric, but I'm really just a free spirit who loves having fun. I am a bit of a potty mouth, so I apologize in advance about that. Living in the Midlands of England, I get to live on the edge of the lovely countryside whilst being able to hop on a train to cities such as London, Birmingham and Manchester. I started this blog in July 2009 as a general expression of all things 'me' but I soon found it taking a fashion and style direction. I'm a major art geek and hope to make a career selling my paintings and taking portrait commissions. I'm a little obsessed with hydrangeas, The Phantom of the Opera and Hello Kitty. I adore my cute little guinea pigs: Vuitton and Dior. I'd say icing is my favourite food, accompanied by buttercream and perhaps a little cake, and I have an addiction to collecting craft supplies such as ribbons and sparkly gems. I was a columnist at British Style Bloggers from September 2009 to March 2012 and was an editor of the Links à la Mode for Independent Fashion Bloggers from July 2010 to February 2011. I started Florrie's Art Spot in June 2011 as a separate blogging project on Tumblr.

I'm a writer, events manager and social media bod interested in fashion, both vintage (unsurprisingly) and streetwear (more unusually), as well as sports and healthy lifestyles. Always creative, and a lover of language, I started out as a traditional marketing copywriter, slowly moving from company to company to try and find that perfect role, always the most strangely dressed in the department (and in the creative sector, that's saying a lot). In the summer of 2009, I was made redundant and decided to strike out on my own, and I've been doing so ever since, living on my wits. Also quite a lot of marmite toast. And gin.

Well, I've gone and done it. I've started a blog. I think I just have too much to say than can be contained in my laughable ten minute limit on youtube. And youtube is probably where you met me. I am the creator of Lisa Freemont Street and no, my name isn't Lisa Freemont. It's Ashley. The channel name is actually a blend of two of my biggest inspirations: Grace Kelly and Vintage Las Vegas. For those of you who are fellow Hitchcock fans, you probably remember Grace's character in Rear Window-Lisa Fremont. Her grace and poise were beautifully portrayed in that film (along w/ the phenomenal Edith Head fashions she wore) but she also had a spunky, adventurous side that I loved. On the other hand, I also have a pension for glitz and kitch, so I had to throw a little 'Fremont Street' into the mix. Yes, I'm aware of the difference in spelling...but when you type in 'Freemont Street' on google, just WHO comes up? See? There's a method to my madness!

Thanks for coming to Hairdresser On Fire! My work has been seen a little on TV, a little in magazines and a lot on my friends. I started this blog after getting a little tired of the same cut/blow dry combo I was doing all day-every day at the salon. The blog gives me more creative freedom by answering hair questions, posting beautiful photos and filming tutorials. I've worked in big and small hair salons in NYC for the last 6 years, and this is my way of spreading hair joy in a more fun way. Straight up high school sleep-over style.
