My only dream

Keep dreaming

I'm Kaelah and this is my little corner of the internets. I am a lover of bulldogs, bubble baths, road trips, dresses with pockets, and adventure. I'm a 24 year old recent college grad with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and I'm living my small business dream. I just opened up a mobile retail shoppe called Honeybean and my heart has never been so full! I bartend on the weekends and design away during the week. I live in a quaint cream colored cottage in East Nashville with my handsome photographer fiance, Mike, and our two fat bulldogs (and a fuzzy cat), and as of February 2012, my sweet little toddler step son. When I'm not perusing the interweb for all things magical you can probably find me at the puppy park or tattoo shop. After two whirlwind summers spent in the art department at BUST magazine in NYC, I am calling Nashville home (until we find our dream home/town to settle down in!).

I'm just a girl working at a desk by day & living in a dream world by night. In 2008, I moved back to my hometown to begin a new job in the corporate world. For the better part of 2 years I struggled to mesh my personal style with that of the "real world". Born out of my love for style blogs and a little self-motiviation to assemble fun and fresh office appropriate outfits, 26 and Counting was created. While I may not be 26 anymore, this little corner of the blog world, my contribution focuses on inventive everyday fashion for professionals who may {on occassion} find themselves feeling a little creatively constricted by their corporate environments. 

About Me Angelica. It means bringer of good news. I try to embrace that. Fashion for me is an individual expression of the inner being that you are. It reflects facets of your personality - your favourite movie, the food you enjoy, your favourite singer, the people who you hang out with and what you think about when you're lying in your bed alone at night and staring at the ceiling. One day I hope to work for Teen Vogue. That is my ultimate dream. However, for now I am learning the ropes in the fashion world. Designers, models, styles, clothing, and sewing - the list goes on. Never be afraid to stand out because it shows people that you are unique and not one of the many crowds. I love Taylor Swift. She is my hero and biggest inspiration. I love my Mom because she is everything to me and I get my style from her. Although, most people say I should have been born in the sixties because I rock a good hippie/bohemian outfit. God is my rock. Jesus is my Saviour not my religion. I fell in love with the man who died for me. God is the one person I can always turn to and He'll always be there for me, no matter what. Time, space and distance don't count. I am where I am now because I love Him and He has done so much for me. I continue to walk in His Destiny for me. I live in a tiny apartment in Portland, Oregon with my childhood best friend, Stephanie and our mischievous kitten Pip. Here is a recent family photo… I'm 20 years old. I'm a firm believer that evolving and changing your mind and following your dreams is the best way to live.  I currently go to an art school for Communication Design. I have an online shop called Stuff Kara Made. I opened it in November 2011 with my first tee shirt line. I make tees, hand-stitched pullovers, and journals.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and live here now, although I lived in Seattle and then the Bay Area during college. The most important things in life, to me, are a safe and warm home, my pets, my friends and family and I dream about doing what makes me truly happy; helping other people. Welcome to my blog, Hopeless Notebook. I started my blog on January 1st, 2012 when I noticed that a friend of mine had started her own blog. Her blog was so adorable and fun, and I knew I could come up with something equally as fantastic, thus Hopeless Notebook was born!      Hopeless Notebook is a lot of things : a fashion blog, a lifestyle blog, a place for pictures, DIYs, inspiration, and everything in-between. Sometimes there will be silly, happy stories, sometimes there will be sad ones, and other times there will be lots of whining, but this blog will always be 100% truthfully me. ♥♥♥      As for me, I'm a college girl trying to make her silly, outlandish dreams come true. I currently live in sunny Florida, but as soon as college is said and done, I'll be packing up with my mister and moving far, far away. We'll be moving to North Carolina where I plan on opening up my own dress boutique, and possibly doing a bit of graphic design work on the side.      My mister's name is Garrett, and we've been together since our freshman year of high school. Art in the form of language, music, pictures, paintings, fashion. I believe our bodies are a blank canvas, and the hues are the garments we wear. Now I've created a blog where I can share daily language, poetry, musings, and photographs. I created flying a kite in January 2009. Since then, I have gained so much spirit and so much love! In September 2009, I was invited to New York for a fashion blogger conference. It was the most exceptional thing I've ever been a part of.     Also, To my delight(and surprise) I've been featured in magazines, fashion blogs, and wonderful online communities. Fashion trends change so rapidly that any per-conceived dream saree design might have been already obsolete by now. So being open to new ideas helps make better choices. Choice of fabric is also very important so that it suits the climatic condition of the place that you are getting married at.

A wedding is a cherishable moment of life which is everlasting and relishing for the couple. It is the dream day of your life when you want everything to fashion.

Have you ever heard of someone loving their job so much that they pause for lunch and realize its already dinner time? I am a graphic designer, web designer, photographer, video animator, cinema enthusiast, painter, and all around digital wizard! If there is something I don't know, I teach myself! I am passionate about what I do, and I'm lucky enough to call my hobby my career. I decided to create this space to share all my random creative projects, my inspiration, and all the little things that I find beautiful in the world!
