Welcome to my blog, Hopeless Notebook. I started my blog on January 1st, 2012 when I noticed that a friend of mine had started her own blog. Her blog was so adorable and fun, and I knew I could come up with something equally as fantastic, thus Hopeless Notebook was born!      Hopeless Notebook is a lot of things : a fashion blog, a lifestyle blog, a place for pictures, DIYs, inspiration, and everything in-between. Sometimes there will be silly, happy stories, sometimes there will be sad ones, and other times there will be lots of whining, but this blog will always be 100% truthfully me. ♥♥♥      As for me, I'm a college girl trying to make her silly, outlandish dreams come true. I currently live in sunny Florida, but as soon as college is said and done, I'll be packing up with my mister and moving far, far away. We'll be moving to North Carolina where I plan on opening up my own dress boutique, and possibly doing a bit of graphic design work on the side.      My mister's name is Garrett, and we've been together since our freshman year of high school. We're crazy about each other ♥ but mostly we're just crazy.

Bonjour! Je m'appelle Lindsey. I speak French, although not very well. I love tutus, in case you hadn't noticed from the blog title. Actually, pretty much anything with tulle will set my heart racing. I also have a deep and abiding affinity for glitter, sequins, sparkles and florals. I'm 18, and in less than 6 months I'm moving to the "big city" for university, and I could not be more excited! Sometimes I write poetry, and sometimes I read books, both of which I would like to share here on this little blog. Marianne I like pretty things and when people look at the camera in fashion blogs. After becoming a mom two+ years ago, my body and style started to change, and so, I am left...struggling. And trying on lots of styles that I wouldn't have touched before, because I don't know what works on my body any more. This leads to sometimes hilarious results, and sometimes surprise successes, all of which I am willing to document and post for your enjoyment. My personal style is undergoing a bit of a sea change at the moment. In the past I've leaned towards whimsy, loving anthropologie, Marc Jacobs, Nanette Lepore. However now I find myself wearing more black, grey, khaki. More structure. Since having a baby I can't abide by flowy dresses or tops because they remind me too much of maternity clothing. I would rather wear something structured even if my stomach is not exactly flat. I still love Marc Jacobs and anthropologie, I just like different styles. I would like to build a forever wardrobe of things I will still want to wear in 10 years. Pleased to meet you!

Hi, I'm Joanna and welcome to my blog.  I hope you enjoy reading the posts contained therein as much as I enjoyed writing them.  This blog is geared towards anyone interested in writing, the process of writing, occasional musings on fashion, style and life, in general.  Especially that last bit: "life," and all the wonderful, crazy and terrifying things it has to offer.  Being a flâneur is not as "idle" or "lounge-y" as it seems!  In fact, there is no direct translation of flâneur into English.  I like to think that a flâneur is one who is actively engaged in life, even if one is sitting and watching the world go by; an active observer, if you will.  I am a writer and editor by trade and we do have a tendency to notice everything; either we want to write about it because it's intriguing, or we want to correct it :)

I'm an 18 year old from a small Chicago suburb, but I will be spending my next few years at school in Boston. I love vintage clothes, collect old cameras, and thrift way too much. I came to love vintage clothes at a very young age when I stumbled across some old photos of my great grandmother and aunt (Grace and Viola). Shortly after that, my mother's antique shop had a vintage fashion show, and ever since then I have been on the lookout for great vintage finds. I'm just a girl who hopes to travel the world, meet interesting people, and take in all that life has to offer. I live in Australia's fashion capital, and my favourite thing is to be asked "Where did you get THAT?". I have a penchant for silly shoes, and beautiful bags. I spend vast quantities of time shopping for clothes, but when it's time to get dressed in the morning, I invariably have nothing to wear. I sell books, and think publishing is the best industry in the world to work in (because no-one makes any money in books, everyone who works with them is doing it out of love). I come from a large family, and though I live in a different city, I'm still comfortably entangled in my Mum's apron strings. I have an almost infallible sense of direction (inherited from my Dad, and what the family refers to as our "bump") and a completely fallible sense of balance. I prefer Operas that end in weddings, to those that end in funerals, and I have a secret stash of romance novels that I'm horribly embarassed about.

I have always adored the exploration of art. Art in the form of language, music, pictures, paintings, fashion. I believe our bodies are a blank canvas, and the hues are the garments we wear. Now I've created a blog where I can share daily language, poetry, musings, and photographs. I created flying a kite in January 2009. Since then, I have gained so much spirit and so much love! In September 2009, I was invited to New York for a fashion blogger conference. Luxirare is a weekly webzine dedicated to clothing and cuisine. At Luxirare, the typical notion of a seasonal fashion show or seasonal "menu" does not exist. Styles and recipes are presented as individual pieces that do not follow a strict theme but rather a flow of ideas. The Luxirare principle is to use the unique mobility of the internet to develop an enticing, unorthodox presentation. A fluidity of information is easily produced because content can be accessed from anywhere at any time. The grassroots feedback system allows and encourages anyone to provide instantaneous feedback. Ideas are presented 1 by 1 so that detailed images can magnify the process or item being presented; this allows for a more intimate interaction between the image and the audience. However, there is a commitment to motion. There are no starts, no stops, no resumption of any discontinued story; just a continual conversation between the creator and the audience. I've been interested in art for as long as I was able to hold a crayon. Since then, I've been trying to find as many creative outlets as possible, whether it be painting, wood-working, drawing, sculpting, performing. I love photography in all aspects. I have been doing photography for several years now and in the past few years have even gotten into modeling for fashion and artistic shots. The list goes on and on. I studied Fine Arts at Missouri State University for 2 years, and then also 2 years at the Kansas City Art Institute. I am also Cherokee Indian and try to hold onto that culture and heritage through Native American inspired projects.
