Findings Blog - How We Will Read: Clay Shirky - 0 views

  •
If you liked his TED talk, you may enjoy his discussion of READING in the world of Kindle Fire and other tablets. I wrote a long (18 page) research paper for UNO about e-readers, so this article speaks to me. :-) Shirky explores SOCIAL READING and discusses its merits (or lack thereof).

You could establish a group and mark all the links you wish them to visit, direct them to certain sites for research, OR have them contribute to a community list like our CSM group. Check out this article for the "how-to's" and benefits.

This article addresses five myths about using technology in education.  The report was released at the 2010 ISTE conference.  It is a long article but you can always just read the five myths as a summary if you do not want to read the full report.  It has great links on the resource page at the end of the article (p32).

10 iphone apps that can help with homework - 4 views

This article is a great source for finding "virtual tutoring programs" to help students with their homework. I think it would be great for a teacher to check out all of these apps to evalutate which might be best to recommend to students. And with so many new apps being created all the time, this is certainly a topic to do continual research into.

Great article. I just added it to my personal Diigo account for my own children to check out!
