Roger Clarke's Open Business Models - 0 views

  • A much broader interpretation is that a business model is the architecture of products, services, actors and information flows as perceived by a particular business enterprise (Timmers 1998). The term 'business architecture' might be more descriptive of Timmers' concept.
  • A useful interpretation of the term 'business model' is therefore that it is the answer to the question 'Who pays what, to whom, and why?' (Clarke 1997, 1999a).
  • What for? goods and/or services value-add to goods and/or services complementary goods and/or services expertise in applying the goods and/or services assurance of quality and security

SharedEcommerce on Aboutus.org with E-Junkie - 0 views

  • Dear Robin, thank you for appreciating the community work. You are invited to a (PR-)friendly, constructive community dialogue at http://aboutus.org/SharedEcommerce. I prepared a kingsize intro for you with a YouTube video :-) All we need is a simple PHP-link without further parameters and how we get it. Although "Paypal account option = YES" is not quite clear. Later on we need a "one-time", "first-come first served Pay-Button" for selling domains via an EditGrid or GoogleSpreadsheet in the spirit of http://aboutus.org/SocialDomaining (a special case for http://ExtremeOpenBusiness). It would be great, if we could have a "OneClickDomainBuyButton", that makes payment and DomainTransfer one integrated process (including a cooperating DomainRegistrar, that could be E-Junkie.com :-) All the best to all of us. Fridemar PS.: For maximal exposure of these ideas in the context of *****E-Junkie*****, I leave a bilinked copy in your forum, a backup in Aboutus.org and annotate it for the following Diigo groups: CreatingAndSharingWealth, SocialDomaining, ExtremeOpenBusiness. Besides that, I include it into the public WikiTrail, named "E-Junkie.com" and last not least, leave a notice on Twitter.com.
  • Hey Robin, anybody of the support team, or any savvy member of the E-Junkie community: we have some questions, posed in http://aboutus.org/SharedEcommerce, we ask you here, because you might have a better feeling here "at home" :-) although I did my best to prepare a comfortable context in the aboutus.org wiki. Q1: How can we reduce the high percentage of Paypal-transaction costs, when needing a price <1 US$. Do you allow cumulating small amounts or do you know other micropayment options? Q2: Do you allow customizing the PayButton... something like | Create More ? | together with your VISA and Mastercard logo? Q3: Do you allow group accounts for SharedEcommerce (I guess, Paypal has something like that). All the best to all of us Fridemar Q4: We need a one-time Buy-Now Button for selling domain-names. Is this possible with E-Junkie? (As a small API application for GoogleSpreadsheet and/or EditGrid). Of course it would be great to integrate at least an Intra Registrar Transfer of the traded domaines. Q5: What are the typical transaction costs for international sellers with a merchant account? As this AnnotationEngine is not yet a TagWiki, the author presets all wiki words manually to GoogleSearchLinks.

Dear friends of OpenBusiness and WikiNomics, please support this open negotiation to make it a success. Currently only the community MySpace supports Paypal's frontstore, while Paypal has announced Facebook as the next community to get the Paypal widget. Actually it can be used on Blogs and on Websites, where the owners have control over their own HTML (widgets).

ThinkBalm publishes business value study « ThinkBalm: Immersive Internet insi... - 0 views

  • Nearly 30% of survey respondents (19 of 66) said their organization recouped their investment in immersive technologies in less than nine months, once their project(s) launched.
  • The top motivations for investment in immersive technology in 2008 /1Q 2009 were enabling people in disparate locations to spend time together, increased innovation, and cost savings or avoidance.
  • Early implementers are choosing the simplest use cases first. The most common were learning and training (80%, or 53 of 66 respondents focused on this use case) and meetings (76%, or 50 of 66 respondents). Some intend to take on more complex use cases in 2010 or 2011.
  • ...2 more annotations...
  • Immersive technology won out over a variety of alternatives primarily due to low cost and the increased engagement it delivers. The leading alternatives were Web conferencing and in-person meetings, followed by phone calls.
  • Work-related use of the Immersive Internet is in the early adopter phase. Before it can pass into the early majority phase, practitioners and the technology vendors who serve them must “cross the chasm.” The most common barriers to adoption are target users having inadequate hardware, corporate security restrictions, and getting users interested in the technology.

Rather than trying to be a Venture Capitalist, I was looking for an idea that hopefully could inspire people to create businesses that could quickly become self funding. Businesses that just needed a jump start to get the ball rolling and create jobs. Im a big believer that entrepreneurs will lead us out of this mess. I just needed a way to help.
