Four convicts awarded life time imprisonment by city session court, headed by Principal sessions judge Shalini Phansalkar Joshi, for the involvement in Shakti Mills gang rape cases that happened in central Mumbai previous year.

A city sessions court on Thursday announced that five persons are the culprits for the gang-rape of the photojournalist as well as a telephone operator, which happened at the Shakti Mills situated in central Mumbai previous year.

According to the reports, today the verdict of two Shakti Mill gang-rape cases will be declared, which consists of 22nd August last year case when a 23-year-old journalist was allegedly gang-raped by five persons in the abandoned mill premises.

The sentence for three Shakti Mills gang-rape convicts, who were found guilty for two rape cases, will be pronounced today by the session court in Mumbai and they may face death sentence as on Thursday the three were booked under IPC section 376 (E), a new legal provision under which repeat offenders may face death sentence or life-term imprisonment.

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने देश के नाम संदेश देते हुए कहा कि भारत ने अंतरिक्ष में बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल की है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों ने अंतरिक्ष में मिशन शक्ति में लॉ अर्थ ऑरबिट (LEO) सैटेलाइट को मार गिराया। मोदी ने कहा कि इसके लिए बहुत उच्च तकनीकी की ताकत की आवश्यकता थी। वैज्ञानिकों ने सभी निर्धारित लक्ष्यों को हासिल कर लिया। उन्होंने इसके लिए वैज्ञानिकों को बधाई दी है।

बुधवार को भारत के एंटी-सैटेलाइट मिसाइल के सफल परीक्षण के बाद इस पर राजनीति का दौर शुरु हो गया है। पहले वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली ने आरोप लगाया कि अगर कांग्रेस सरकार पहले मंजूरी दे देती तो मिसाइल बहुत पहले बन गई होती। अब मिसाइल बनाने वाले रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (DRDO) के पूर्व प्रमुख वीके सारस्वत ने जेटली के विचारों से सहमति जताते हुए कहा है कि कांग्रेस सरकार ने मिसाइल बनाने के लिए मंजूरी नहीं दी थी।
