The Human Rights Resource Center is an integral part of the University of Minnesota Human Rights Center and works in partnership with the University of Minnesota Human Rights Library to: Create and distribute Human Rights Education (HRE) resources via electronic and print media; Train activists, professionals, and students as human rights educators; Build advocacy networks to encourage effective practices in human rights education; Support the World Programme for Human Rights Education (2005-2007) and the United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004).

This is a great kid-friendly poster presenting the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  I can see this visual being used as a springboard to discussions and lessons about human rights, constitutional rights, discrimination, and various social studies curricula. It would also be a nice reminder to students about humanity and that these tenets are applicable even in small communities such as classrooms. The illustrations supporting the text are simple yet effective, and would help younger students and English language learners to better understand some of the text.

A site on human rights abuse: child abuse, child labor, human trafficking...Experts say one way to prevent child abuse is by making them aware of their rights. Otherwise, children become easy prey of ill-intended people. This page can be used to teach aspects of the English language (such as vocabulary, pronunciation...) as well as content aspects (e.g. on the content of human rights) thus promoting real communication in an EFL setting.

Stuff on Human rights. 

This is an excellent website and organization that is dedicated to sharing information regarding human rights abuses. They are a non profit and have been in existence for decades. I appreciate this site and their work because they provide a lot of grassroots style information and networking. They clearly have a lot of boots on the ground and they seem to know how the human rights abuses are specifically impacting groups of people. This is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about a variety of human rights topics. I think the multimedia sections will engage students above and beyond any article or news story.

This is a good site to be updated for different issues related with human rights problem in the entire world. this site can be used to teach different problems of the world and then to express how to relate the problems.

Being a democratic country, India takes human rights quite seriously. This is the official website giving us the details about different acts on human rights and key information regarding maintaining human rights in India.

This site provides about 10 wonderful resources on Human Rights for different grades .The classroom resource on African American journalist Ida B W ells provides event description, wonderful classroom activity which enables the students to read , brainstorm ideas and then write.It also provides a wide range of resources to create a class newspaper. The international book of teens- a parent and after school resource helps students to have a better view of the world through an exposure to international books and offer a"sustained look at war , poverty and struggle for human rights"A book review in audio provides the right ambiance for further reading and comments section gives option for free expression of thoughts and suggestions.The graphic novel -Mous gives a visual treat nudging the reluctant reader to achieve the learning objectives.The lesson plan on `How big are Martins words` is a good resource for learning vocabulary and for developing creativity.The theory to practice gives ample food for thought to the user There is also option in this site for saving the students work with student inter actives. Overall, its a great site rich with a corpus of resources on human rights

This is a great information page. You can find lots of texts and information on human rights that can definetely be helpful in your classroom. It gives you access to a learning center, a resource center and networks. My topic was right to life, but this page offers a great deal regarding all human rights.

One of the frontrunners of highlighting the human rights violation all around the world. Students could investigate the human rights climate in different countires and write down their investigations via a wiki. Individuals or groups could be pick one or two countries to take on.

This lesson guides students toward interpreting what these humans rights mean for themselves and others.  

Short Bios of American African people who changed the world. A helpful page to find out what African American people made a difference and what they did to support Human Rights. The way how I would use it in class is as follow: The students scan these short bios, next, they identify the characters who did their bit to help for Human Rights, finally, they create a mind map on Spiderscribe.

This is a resourceful site that contains reports, news, issues, references, and agencies related to human rights. Useful links lead to a pool of knowledge on the subject. It is an American site.

I find this website very interesting since you can find a lot of topics about human rights and what´s more important you will be able to find different activities for each topic such as role plays , brainstorming activities , discussion and more .

This web contains the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which, surprisingly, is not known by a high percentage of people around the world despite of the emphasis this document puts on "keeping this Declaration constantly in mind." In each of the artciles, it makes clear that everyone has the same rights with no intention to stablish differences among people from different countries.
