How PLANE is helping school teachers evidence their professional learning - 1 views

  •
PLANE (www.plane.edu.au) has implemented an integrated Mahara/Moodle platform for educators to collate digital materials that evidence professional learning over time. Collecting evidence of teacher professional learning has become more important in recent times due to employment conditions. Enrolling in a course on PLANE will automatically create a mahara page to evidence learning. Submitting the page to a group for review allows the learning evidence to be assessed and if compliant, a moodle certificate is granted and automoatically added to the teachers portfolio page for that Moodle course. Teachers can use their portfolio to create online pages, as well as setting and monitoring professional learning goals, reflecting on learning and controlling which items to keep private and which items to share with colleagues.
