  When Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was first announced, it's fair to say that there was some trepidation among fans about whether it could live up to the greatness of the original. Fortunately, though, it's safe to say that director James Gunn didn't disappoint with this latest chapter in the Guardians franchise.   The main characters
  
  The main character, Peter Quill, is played by Chris Pratt and also goes by Star-Lord in his work as a member of Guardians of the Galaxy. Gamora is an adopted daughter of her evil father but quickly joins forces with Quill after she meets him and realizes he's not what she thought he was. Drax plays a very unique role for Guardians because he doesn't know about emotions and mainly just cares about fighting Thanos, who killed his family and destroyed his planet when he was younger. Groot is another character that doesn't talk a lot but does have a very soothing voice that keeps everyone calm during battle and can also heal wounds such as broken bones if you're injured badly in battle.
