The App Store continues its rapid growth, with Approximately 300,000 Apps added each year. I decided it would be fun to download as much App metadata as possible in order to see what patterns and trends I could find. This blog post describes the results.

This statistic illustrates the share of British fitness or health app users that reported finding the apps helpful in achieving thier various fitness and health goals, as of June 2013. Of respondents, 65 percent reported finding apps somewhat or very helpful with losing weight and dieting.

Today there's an app for just about anything, whether you're looking for a playlist with the best bumpin' beats for your run or the easiest way to not wake up feeling groggy every morning. The problem then becomes: How do you determine which apps are worth your time (and precious storage space on your phone)?

This statistic gives information on the distribution of the top ten most popular paid health and fitness apps in Germany as of May 2013, ranked by subcategory. Out of all the apps that made it into the top 10 during performance check, 21 percent were diet and calorie counters.

The top five markets for mobile health app companies in Europe include Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom, according to a survey of 5,000 app developers, healthcare professionals, and digital health practitioners. The survey, which was conducted by Research2Guidance in collaboration with HIMSS Europe, found that 55 percent of respondents ranked the UK as the top market.

Health and medical apps are growing at an incredible pace in the US. But what about Europe? Are there equally creative ideas going on across the pond? Fortunately, there are plenty of examples.

Denmark, Finland, The Netherlands, Sweden and the UK are the top five countries offering the best market conditions for mobile health app companies in Europe, according to a survey conducted by research2guidance in collaboration with HIMSS Europe.
