This article looks at the use of web quests in social studies in order to stimulate learning and act as a tool in the classroom. As social studies teachers we need to make sure that we are culturally sensitive and relevant, not just teaching holidays and special people but making sure the whole experience of history is taught. Our students are 'participants in the world' and they need to be prepared to participate in our democratic society. This article also addresses scaffolding inquiry and connecting the present to past events. This is a must read for anyone who wants to make history current for their students!
