Backchanneling has a lot of promise with students in many different content areas. Here is a Social Studies teacher who shared her first experience using Today's Meet as a tool for doing formative assessment and teaching critical thinking skills during a film she showed students. "History students in the Perris Union High School District can do more than adorn their classroom walls with cool projects and posters. PUHSD students join larger communities of activists, historians, and journalists to make the world a better place." And they did it with Chromebooks!

Great, easy lesson on how to teach the power of privilege to young people in the school environment (and other settings, as well).

"The BBC Flew a Drone Over Auschwitz - And the Result Is Haunting" - so many ways this could be used to evoke create responses from students - poetry, reflections, compare/contrast, etc.

"Use "Fakebook" to chart the plot of a book, the development of a character, a series of historical events, the debates and relationships between people, and so on!" Students and teachers create imaginary profile pages.

Meet reading standards using this site and engage students with current events. Includes the ability to adjust reading level and assessing students comprehension with writing and multiple choices quizzes. Great resource.
