Teachers kick off Save Our Schools rally in Washington, D.C. A four-day rally known as the Save Our Schools March and National Call to Action is taking place in Washington, D.C., with teachers gathering to share ideas on education reform and send a message to policymakers about their opposition to test-driven accountability for schools and teachers. The event initially was organized by a small group of educators, but it has gained the support of the country's two largest teachers unions and is expected to be attended by many teachers from across the country. Local rallies also will be held in conjunction with Saturday's event nationwide. Education Week/Politics K-12 blog (7/28)
