An Excellent New Feature for Google Docs ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning - 1 views

  •
"A few days ago Google released a few interesting updates to its Drive applications. One important update that I want to share with you today is called "Suggested Edits". This new feature is great for collaborative work on Google Docs. Before, when you share a Google document with your collaborators and grant them the editing rights they can edit anything in it. But with "Suggested Edits" you, as the owner of the document, can control this editing process by allowing collaborators to make only suggestions which you can either accept or reject. This new feature is not available on Google Docs for mobile."

Need to review because Rita suggested it.
  • Enso lets you do common computing tasks easier and faster than ever before. You get a huge productivity boost and a simpler digital life.
  • Enso is dead simple to use. You just hold down the Caps Lock key and type an Enso command, which is displayed in a translucent overlay. Once the command is typed, you simply release the Caps Lock key to activate it, and the overlay disappears. If you type fast, it all happens in a flash. For instance, to launch the Firefox Web browser, you just hold down the Caps Lock key and type "open firefox." To look up the meaning of the word "proclivity," you just hold down the Caps Lock key and type "define proclivity."

Storytelling Alice - Download - 0 views

  • Storytelling Alice was created as part of the research for my PhD dissertation. It has not been heavily tested in the classroom (as Alice 2 has) and no support is available. It is available for download in part because of the overwhelming number of requests that I have received and in part because It provides a glimpse of some of the ideas influencing the design of Alice 3.

Seashore - About - 0 views

  • Seashore is an open source image editor for Mac OS X's Cocoa framework. it features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. it supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. it is based around the GIMP's technology and uses the same native file format. However, unlike the GIMP, Seashore only aims to serve the basic image editing needs of most computer users, not to provide a replacement for professional image editing products. Seashore was created by Mark Pazolli who led the project until the end of 2009.

The incredible, unscalable screen of the Chromebook Pixel (vs MacBook Pro Retina) - 0 views

  •
"Display resolution versus pixel resolution Those figures both refer to pixel resolution, a stat that until last year generally didn't differ from display resolution. The difference is important, and I continue to be annoyed that neither Apple nor Google make it easy to understand what display resolutions their screens show. The difference between the two can be summarized like this: Display Resolution: How much can you see on a screen Pixel Resolution: How clear or sharp the image is that you see Display resolution: how much you can see

"Evernote is a cloud-based service that allows you to save anything you want and then easily find it. But there are a lot of cloud services that allow you to save stuff, so what sets Evernote apart from the rest? Well, there really isn't one clear-cut answer to that, but there is one clear-cut article."
