This article discusses the finer points of one of the four elements of hip hop, breakdancing. It talks about how the art is being watered down and how to truely commit to dancing. It tells about all of the methods inside of dancing, such as popping, locking, etc.

It shows the world's interest in the Dali's different outlook on the Surrealist movement. It also explains his works and his influence on the development of Pop art in the 1960s.

Kato, M. T. From Kung Fu to Hip Hop: Globalization, Revolution, and Popular Culture. Albany: State University of New York, 2007. Print. This book describes how much pop culture has changed over the years. In the old days, action heros were cowboys and policemen, whereas now, they are thugs with guns and muscle that look scary and talk tough. Culture has just changed so much and this book does an excellent job of pointing that out

This article focuses on the connections between Andy Warhol's personal life and his work.  Warhol saw everything that he did as work and a way of promoting his magazine, "Interview."  It discusses Warhol's role in the market world and in "celebrity culture."  This article goes on to expand several of the effects the market world and celebrity lifestyle had on Warhol.

Kimmelman, Michael. "At the Met With: Roy Lichtenstein; Disciple Of Color And Line, Master Of Irony." New York Times 31 Mar. 1995: 1. Academic Search Complete. EBSCO. Web. 9 Nov. 2010. This is an interview that was conducted between Mr. Roy Lichtenstein, and Mr. Michael Kimmelman. This is a good article to have because it gives actual quotes from Roy Lichtenstein. This article talks about how Lichtenstein really shocked the art world with his paintings. It talks about the different Eras that he had painted in. The 70's focusing on reinterpretations of famous paintings, and the 80's and 90's bringing in bright colors and new brush-strokes. The article holds a lot of nice lines from Lichtenstein that talk about how he feels his art is portrayed (I don't think storytelling has anything to do with modern painting or with my paintings at least.) The article will help to put an actual feel for who Roy Lichtenstein was in my paper.

Print.\n\nThis book is about Andy Warhol's change of style between 1948 and 1949.  Warhol painted as he wished, but when challenged by his art professors, he began to take their advice and paint as they advised.  During Warhol's last year at the Carnegie Institute of Technology was when he took their criticism seriously and instigated this change in his art.

This book discusses the complexities behind Andy Warhol's character.  It discusses how Warhol has managed to keep his personal life out of the media and therefore remains much a mystery to the public.  People are left to interpret his personality through his artwork.  Warhol is often associated with the Campbell's soup can, and paintings of automobile accidents.

This book is about the image of The Sex Pistols and how their intentions were "clear cut" when it came to style. The likes of Johnny Rotten, not John Lydon, was a household name. Whether it was because they were allowed to play or not allowed to play The Sex Pistols were becoming very popular.

Walker believes that, yes, he does. This stands to be correct because Andy Warhol appeared in so many different forms of media and appealed to all of his audiences. This article helps prove the underlying feelings behind Andy Warhol's art. This article describes how Warhol appealed to his audience.

Keller, Victoria. "Andy Warhol: A Celebration of Life... and Death." Blackwell Publishing (2008): Ohiolink. Web. 16 Nov. 2010. This article is a basic biography of Andy Warhol's life and work. Andy Warhol was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in 1928. He received his art training at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Institute of Technology and went on to become a commercial illustrator in NYC in the 50's. Warhol had his mind set on becoming a solo artist all throughout his career. His first solo exhibit was in 1962, where his 32 Campbell Soup can paintings were displayed.
