This article answers many questions many people may have about the Beatles and their coming to America from Liverpool, England. The article strongly supports the musicality of the Beatles, stating that it is far superior to any other musical band in America during the 1960s. The Beatles were truly superior because their music can be taken-in by people of all ages and across generations. The lyrics to the songs of the Beatles are more like poems that are touching, cleaver, meaningful. The key to the success of the Beatles, is that the band worked together not only to perform amazing music, but to also create it.

This article explores the American influences in the Beatles music. The band took in a range of influences from American mainstream pop and rock and roll musicians including: Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley. The Beatles first debuted in America on the Ed Sullivan Show in New York City. The article suggests that British rock derived from American music. The article provides information of the Beatles cover on artists such as: Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry, and Buddy Holly. It also includes quotes from Paul McCarthy and John Lennon on how they were inspired by these artists. With the combination of so many artists and genres of music, the Beatles were able to diversify their sound so that they can relate to all of their fans.

Paull, Emily J., and Wendy L. Morris. "Stereotyping and Nonconformity:The Effects of Punk Music on Social Behavior." Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research 13.4 (2008): 173-183. Each student was given punk, popular, or no music to listen to. The punk group exibited more conformity than the other groups, opposite to what we would expect. A second study was done to see whom students associated with punk music.

"The Music Quarterly" is about the Romantic musician Beethoven. It specifically discusses his educational background. The article discribes how Beethoven was acutally not highly educated in many subject areas. Rather, Beethoven was educated in music and in playing various instruments such as the violin. His father and grandfather were responsible for giving Beethoven this vast amount of musical knowledge. At such a young age, Beethoven was able to play many instruments and read music.

The article suggests that the Beatles were a "breath of fresh air" to help move the country out of their state of mourning. The article also talks about the factors that contributed to the groups' success in the 1960s. The band's music appealed to a wide variety of people. Their songs blended together rock and roll, pop, soul, and blues music. The structure of the sound was very different than American pop during that time period. There was not just a lead singer with a background band; all of the Beatles: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison contributed to each chart-topping single.

The book also gives accounts of other major events in American history including: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the feminist movement, and the civil rights movement. Goldsmith gives a perfect blend of biographical sources and his own personal experiences to explore the impact The Beatles had on music, culture, and style in America. Very detailed descriptions of Beethoven's physical characteristics as well as ones that are similar to his father are stated at the beginning of this article. The article is essentially a summary of Beethoven's musical compositions. To accompany the text, there are a few pictures of lines of his music. The author classifies the last years of Beethoven's life into 2 categories: heroically active and introspective. This article also describes how Beethoven felt immense pressure to make his music conform to the style of that time.

Since the beginning of the Futurist art Movement it has influenced and amazed the public. It wasn't until more recently that this effect has made itself present in America. This article focuses on a couple musicians Balilla Pratella and Luigi Russolo. It shows how these two artists worked to spread the movement.

This article explores the topic of politics in the song, "Revolution" by the Beatles. The song was written by John Lennon in 1968, a time of political turmoil. The article compares this song with "Street Fighting Man" by the Rolling Stones. The article explains that the two songs have a similar political message, but the song by the Rolling Stones was more favorable by the public. The article also references some of tragic events in the late 1960s that helped form the message of the song "Revolution," including: The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., Robert F. Kennedy, and many anti-Vietnam-war protests. The article analyzes the lyrics and composition of "Revolution" exposing Lennon's skepticism about American politics. The article also gives full lyrics to "Revolution 1" for the White Album. The song shows that the Beatles were anti-war and held a position on revolution. The song had both positive and negative reviews. One of the reviews states that the lyrics were bad, but the music itself was good. An essay cited in the article by Greil Marcus noted the song express freedom and movement and made by a great rock and roll band.

Uniquely situated at the heart of African-American youth culture, hip-hop is about music, style and voice. In many ways hip-hop is also about political action. Any discussion of hip-hop culture and rap music lends itself to examinations of rap as a means of protest among inner-city African-American youth. But the resistive benefits of rap music are not limited to its African-American listeners as can be seen by its widespread popularity among youth of all different races, classes and nationalities. As the cultural and political voice of an entire generation of youth, hip-hop has become a means of political action for its artists and fans. It discusses how certain writers of the time influenced Beethoven's music and work. It also touches on the many writers that he admired during this time. Much of the music Beethoven composed during this era, including one of his famous compositions, Fifth Symphony, was persuaded by Romantic authors. This article also discusses how much Beethoven's music was influenced by political events as well.

This article talks generalizes the music popular in the 1960s. The article references artists that made an impact on American music during a time of civil strife including: The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Janis Joplin. The author notes that the Beatles defied the concept of what rock and roll should have been. There wasn't much to say about the Beatles but that they had a diverse sound that not many have heard before.

One of Beethoven's greatest joy in life other than composing music, was teaching. Beethoven greatly enjoyed passing down what he had been taught to his students. Beethoven was said to have had close relationships with the students he taught, even after he finished teaching them. Their lessons included composing music and/or piano lessons. When his students grew older, they passed down Beethoven's teachings to their students and so on.
