Rose, Tricia. The Hip Hop Wars: What We Talk about When We Talk about Hip Hop--and Why It Matters. New York: BasicCivitas, 2008. Print.
The Hip-Hop Wars is a very good source for the hip-hop movement. It explains a lot about how the rap culture caught on in the late eighties, and how it has positive and negative effects on the world. The author of this book is somewhat biased against hip-hop, so this isn't the best source to use if you're not looking for ant bias. The author seems to be speaking to an audience of parents because it seems like she is really against allowing children to get involved in the Hip-Hop Movement. However, this is a very good source because it has a lot of information, and uses a lot of description.
