Conversational English via Skype with VOA WANT TO PRACTICE YOUR CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH? VOA has a 45 minute "Talk2Us" via Skype service on Tuesdays and Fridays at 15:00 GMT. Sometimes listening to audio tapes of books is an effective way to develop fluency and create reading/listening opportunities while on the go. Lit2Go is a free online collection of stories and poems in Mp3 (audiobook) format. An abstract, citation, playing time, and word count are given for each of the passages. Many of the passages also have a related reading strategy identified. Each reading passage can also be downloaded as a PDF and printed for use as a read-along or as supplemental reading material.

Story tools has a collection of tools to analyze your writing. For example, you can paste your essay here and check "readability" (it analyzes your sentences (long/short), use of passives, articles, verbs, etc) or clichés, word count, etc. It also works well to help you create your own stories (use the "story idea generator" button). Why don't you try using some of these tools before handing in your writing to your teacher? :)
