Cool, new information from Apple!

Fast-Facts about social media sites over the past year--who has flourished, who is diminishing, etc.

I was not too suprised by the results!

On Yammer, I posted a new article that addressed what happened on Twitter during this case. This article goes more into how Middle schools, High schools, and parents in Torrington, Connecticut, make efforts to communicate with students about rape after the students tweeted their support of two fellow classmates accused of statutory rape.

I like seeing how social media sites are used for good instead of being used for gossip.

A discussion of using Facebook in a college classroom "Moreover, the students essentially ran the group. Although I wrote posts and comments, students wrote over 90 percent of the posts and over 80 percent of the comments. These included everything from asking for notes, getting clarification on points made in lecture, posting videos and images that pertained to class material, forming study groups, noting relevant events on campus, and congratulating class members on specific accomplishments. Sometimes these posts were made during class, right after I discussed something. I thought that this behavior would bother me, but it simply added to the value of the group and reinforced the spontaneity of interaction."

An interesting article about how for many websites, it's actually illegal to read them if you are under 13 or under 18 due to COPPA (shows a fundamental problem in the law and how terms of service work)

Another article on how it is difficult to hire somone when you have to look at their social media page first....is it a violation of privacy?

This is very true because, like most articles we have read, it is easier to express how you truely feel on social media sites. I thought this was interesting because through social media, it is difficult to find emotion.

Sichelman claims that generation Y-Americans born between 1978 and 1994 purchase certain things for many reasons, including the "humanity" of their contribution to certain companies, like TOMS. Interesting article on advertising!

OverClocked ReMix is a video game music community with tons of fan-made ReMixes and information on video game music.
