NEW MEDIA This site gives a definition of what new media is and examples of technolgies that are considered new media.

This video explains the importance of flow when creating data flow charts. They explain that flow is extremely important when working with complex data and having to explain the content to those who might not understand and need to visualize the message easily.

great video on the basics on forum netiquette. One tip this video gives is to to not post when you are tired or have had a bad day.

I liked how this site said that in an academic setting you should address comments as you would face to face, acknowledge the person who is speaking.

A humorous song that looks at how individuals look at and participate on the internet using the meme and self-referential and how to deal with it.

I really like this website because it's the official Creative Commons website. This particular page was interesting because it is informative to actually see who uses CC and why it is helpful.

This website is from Stanford University. It has a great deal of infomation about fair use and other copyright issues. It has links to other useful information and including youtube

Discussion Board Etiquette This page provides several tips for message board posting etiquette from basic elements like providing a relevant title on a post to more serious issues such as staying away from posting about a personal business or product.

Copyright, Fair Use, and Creative Commons: A Youtube video assessing the impact of fair use and its cultural impact -- specifically, the impact of art upon other artists and how referencing and sometimes even imitating other works of art has helped shape art and culture as a whole. The video shows various examples of artworks that have used each other as references and is a good way to understand the importance behind this.

A really neat summary that breaks down the actual fair use law and analyzes it as it applies to movie reviews. pretty interesting and very useful.

COPYRIGHT--YOUTUBE This website detailed youtube's policy on copyright, what it is, and how to avoid it. I thought this was very helpful in explaining copyright since everyone uses Youtube these days.

Copyright: This book explains how to find copyright owners, request permissions, and keep records. It also describes fair use, public domain, and copyright infringement.

Talks about shared culture and creative commons. 

I thought this was GENIUS. Great way to learn more about copy right to a catchy toon! Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did! :) 

She defines copyright and fair use laws. She says 35 years after an author open up their copyright they can retract it. Thats interesting!

Reflection on "New Media" Bb Article This article reflects on the ways in which an already "media driven" society is taking on new and improved forms of media communication. Some of the examples of new media communication include podcasts, vidcasts, and sms.

CC: Stands for Carbon Copy (Visible to everyone sending email) BC: Blind Carbon Copy (Not Viable to everyone in the email.) Keep email short, focused and conversational. Limit sentences to 15 and 20 words.
