There are several kinds of reports that can be written: Incident, periodic, investigative, progress, trip/call and major reports. These six categories have different goals.
Formal Report
This website provides tables and graphics along with detailed text about the proper way to format a written report for technical writing purposes. The most important message that can be taken away from this site is that in order to have a successful report, each component must be proper placed and present.
This is a great website about formal reports, how they should look and what they should contain. I know this webpage is pretty long but it contains alot of good information about comprising formal reports.
I know we are only suppose to push one to the class but i also came across this online slide show from slideshare that goes into how to do writing proposals and also formal reports. It was very easy to understand and I thought it would be helpful.
The definition of New Media further explains Manovich's 5 principles by giving visual examples and summarizing the principles. The combination of visuals and the summary helps you understand the principles.
I like these rules, they are similar to most netiquette rules, but add a few rules that may be forgotten if not stated. I like the part about USING ALL CAPS.

Homework, Netiquette: A video addressing various forum etiquette in a humorous an instructional manner. The foum nanny covers many aspects of forum netiquette, including tips such as "using the search feature".
NETIQUETTE. The title of the website says it all. 101 Email Etiquette tips for various parts/types of emails, including format, attachments, forwarding, cc'ing and bcc'ing, etc. Very useful.
This video goes into the science behind how our eyes flow across a web page and how the lack of flow can make a company loose money from their website. Our eyes are sensitive to color and detail as well as motion and contrast.
Ch 7-BoD Flow
This site illustrates the concept of visual movement of flow in web design. The picture shown on the page provides hands-on examples of visual elements through text blocks which create "flow."
MANOVICH. This essay makes a case, as it were, for video games as a viable new media and defends them against stereotyped ideas that consider video games to be pointless and a waste of time.
FLOW. This page talks specifically about the concept of flow and how designers can optimize it in their websites. I like this site because of the fact that it cites actual research done and how it clearly breaks down what designers need to do in order to achieve flow.
