ENGL307: Digital Writing

I think this is interesting coming from people who develop and release email software what they find appropriate and deem 'good' to do in a business related email setting.

This was my favorite website out of all the one that I came across. This list was very well put together and it is presented in a very professional manner.

The best tip given is to not use email to avoid personal contact. Face to face time with a person is valuable and most of the time allows for better communication understanding.

This site has a really good diagram of the difference between immediacy and hypermediacy. One difference is that immediacy is like a virtual reality while hypermediacy is like tv news reports

New Media: A very useful blog about new media and all aspects of it, including (but not limited to), those that Manovich discusses. The blog details the evolution of media and allows discussions about said subject.

This site is a blog where bloggers come to discuss issues about new media.  The range of discussion includes anything from the real meaning of digital to the debate between the written word like newspapers versus the internet.

A great summary of flow in web design with great real examples of how it works!

This site has a thourough description of flow and a handful of webpage examples.

This site is very thorough and detailed and offers information on visual and verbal flow, how to used white space, and using flow to create harmony and unity in the design.  The site also show effective use of flow in web design

I really like how this article ties directly to new media, which connects to what we learn in class everyday. It makes me interested in the book that is being reviewed.

This site is great! It's almost a webinar in email etiquette.  There's and email etiquette expert, email etiquette 101, and more.

CHAPTER 6-REPETITION I liked this site because it showed examples of repetition using websites and I thought it was very fitting to look at for project 2

This site is awesome! It's dedicated to galvanizing design elements, trends, and problems in web design.  However, it not only makes the audience aware of the problems, it offers solutions on how to effectively fix design/elemental misuse issues.

a nifty website that explains digital remediation in plainer terms than the original paper assigned.

REMEDIATION. This is a fun wikibook that breaks down the complex idea of Digital Remediation It gives a brief history of it and its impact on the web and justifies the significance of recognizing its influence.

REMEDIATION. Pandora is one of the most primary examples of how remediation is alive and well in today's digital society. It's a site that has taken the radio and placed it essentially in the listeners' hands with the ability to skip songs they don't like and build stations around songs/artists that they tend to favor.

Remediation: An example of remediation, done by a student, focusing on Space Invaders. Very fun and helps to accompany the idea of the text; one media being represented through another, as well as the response of traditional media in an attempt to challenge new or newer media.

Remediation Article Helper This site digs deeper into the creation of new media, arguing that it may not be as effective as old traditional forms of media. The article suggests that these new types of media have "morphed" into what they are because of the foundations of old media.
