    New York City made stop and search laws in belief that it would lower the rate of violent crimes. Stop and frisk laws allow police to pat down any suspicious person. The amount of people being stopped has reached a high number. Of those many people, it seems that law enforcement is singling out certain races. These races being mainly Latino or African American.

    A worker got fired from her job after posting a comment on Facebook. NLRB ruled that this woman rights were violated because there are federal laws that protect employees rights to discuss their workplace problems. Now there are new ruling that apply workers rights to online discussions to ensure employees freedom.

    Many students have been unable to hand out any type of religious holiday cards out at school. Now courts have ruled that as long as the religious material is not offending anyone or interferes with others rights then it is allowed. This rule is known as Tinker Standard.

    The World Health Organization is taking on a new project called Quality Rights. The projects goal is to improve the health services given to the mentally ill. Abuse, violence, and mistreatment has increased in many mental heath facilities. These facilities also do not give employees the amount of training they need in order to care for the ill.

    Every now and then the Supreme Court will get a case based on religion. In these cases the court will have to decide whether or not the religion should be excepted or not. One case taken to the court that was said to be illegal was about a coach in New Jersey who prayed with his team before games. This left people angry over the fact that they believe religious displays should not be illegal. This issue has also brought up the question on whether freedom of speech is also being taken away when the Supreme Court rules against displays of religion.

    Many business are using new technology such as biometric finger scans and facial recognition to make sure employees are free of criminal history and are allowed to have computer access. People are concerned about the privacy issues that go along with facial recognition. Once the business gets a facial scan they can look up other personal information such as phone numbers, social network accounts, and home address.
