The Feres Doctrine prevents veterans from filing claims against the U.S. for injuries  incurred during military service. Because of the doctrines, veterans who have been injured in the line of duty cannot sue the U.S. government for compensation.

The fairness doctrine was a law to force radio stataions to not lean too far in any direction.  I think this should never return.  but this is a good article to understand why some people want it
