The University of Kentucky has recently become a smoke free campus. Campus monitors not only patrol the grounds for bad behavior but now looks for smokers. Monitors will ask the individual to put the cigarette out and provide a flyer on quitting.

Wow. That's awesome, although I'm sure that would be hard to monitor. UK is a big campus. Good for them for trying.

This site is based on some recent changes undergoing in school campus. The state of Florida has banned smoking on their university campus and many more states are considering passing this new policy.

Governor Jan Brewer vetoed the right to carry on campus bill 1467. She explained that this bill could lead to potentially dangerous situations on campus.

A Utah college is allowing students to carry concealed weapons on campus if they have a permit. There is an ongoing debate of whether or not more schools should convert to this policy or whether it would be safer for there to simply be no fire arms on campus.

Governor Brewer apprehensions on the previous bill were the rights were not spelled out distinctly. She indicated the law could have applied to elementary and high school campuses. The National Rifle Association is in support of the purposed bill. Lawmakers supposedly held assemblies with University and Police officials. January 9th the bill was introduced to the legislature. Supposing the bill passes into law, Arizona would be marked as one out of the only five states where guns are allowed on a college campus.

"Controversial legislation to allow concealed weapons on Arizona university and college campuses is dead, the proposal's sponsor said Tuesday."

US Marine is arrested for carrying a hand gun on campus. This sparked a lawsuit to over turn the ruling for college students to carry on campus.

Texas becomes the 8th state to allow concealed weapons on college campuses. Other states allow universities and colleges to decide their own gun restrictions

CONCORD - Banning guns on college campuses violates the Constitutional right to bear arms, argued those who came out Thursday to support legislation lifting such bans at the state's public colleges and universities. The bill, HB 334, has been passed by the House and went before a state Senate panel Thursday.

DeSoto County Schools, public schools, have been asked to stop allowing Gideon International to distribute bibles to students on the school campus. Some are saying it's not a violation of the separation between church and state or freedom of religion because any religion should be allowed to do the same. However, the real issue is whether or not it should even be allowed because just as everyone has freedom of religion, they should also have freedom from religion.
