Parents are fighting back against school districts saying that they have taken dress codes too far and it is now interfering with their childs freedom of speech and expression. Schools are sending kids back home for wearing something as simple as a breast cancer band.

Article concerning the rights of parents to have influence over their children's moral and religious upbringing. The issue specifically covered is a parents right to restrict a child's participation in school activities based on freedom of religious practice.

This is an argument that my partner and I are constantly having, whether or not a parent should apply heavy influence to their child's moral and religious beliefs. I have always felt that a child should be able to be exposed to as many religions as possible, but he feels as though his beliefs should be pressed upon our child. It's a good debate.

Their argument is that they are not causing and physical problems for anyone and they are not harming their children in any way so the government should stay out of their presonal lives.

In this article, a man named Mark Aguilera is expressing his views on the law that was passed here in Arizona about making immigrant carry identification to show that they are legal to be in America. He makes a good point in comparing it to when Jewish people had to wear a yellow star of David so that they could be identified as Jews. he also states that if this continues the it will soon be out of control and made into a America law.

The article goes over many of the issues that parents, teachers, and children are having with common core. Parents are noticing children having an increased stressed level which they attribute to common core. In the authors opinion, teachers are required to follow a script, for fear of job loss. Some programs have also been cut from school like PE and Music.

No six year old or any child should be stressed out about school until at least high school. The core is defiantly not a good thing to have for any education.

the fact that schools have to cut programs just to support this "teaching style/ criteria" is insane. Music and gym and various other activities are ways for kids to get out of the cultural norm of academia and express themselves. I cant even imagine what my school would of been like without those things.

Depending on how people interpret laws, they might believe that they might have lost them but some other people are still satisfied by the fact that they still have some rights. I really like how she expressed her opinion and it really got me thinking onto how our rights might change in the future.
