Arizona has a bill awaiting the state's House approval that would give any employer the option to not offer employees contraception. This bill is meant to protect the businesses that have a religious or moral objection to birth control.

It's frightening to listen to our governor talk about this bill. Scary!

This author has an argument against our Government on how there shouldn't be so many laws.

Greg Merle does a wonderful job of pointing out the facts that lead to the question are we really free? He lists a few restrictions the government puts on the American people.

"What is it that big government doesn't get about the "pursuit of happiness". We have to be free to make mistakes. We don't need laws designed to protect me from me, such as seat belt laws, trans fat laws, helmet laws, shower head water flow laws, etc. Did you know that there is actually a black market on certain toilets because the government wants to control how much you flush?  From a logical stand point, it's ridiculous."

I agree that with allowing everyone to carry a gun we endanger others and I believe there should be me test and screening before we can carry guns. .

I find this article interesting because it informs the reader that gun control has been such a debated topic for decades now. Also what is more interesting is that depending on the situation people are hesitate to allow the second amendment to pass during tough times like during the panthers era or the wild west.This article just makes you think why is there pendulum for strict gun restriction in one decade and no strict gun control in this decade. For instance, because of the sandy hook elementary shooting are we more afraid of this situation to happen again so we keep our guns tighter in our pockets or do we allow the government to handle this for us?

ACLU'S trying to defend the first amendment and allow people to have more control of their personal information. The country has always struggled with freedom of expression, especially if it opposes government beliefs.

Individuals should be able to consume as much soda as they want. I think that there should be more education about how drinking soda in excess can lead to obesity. Maybe warning labels on soda to remind people of the effects of drinking sugary beverages. I think it is then up to each individual to make the decision of how much soda they consume.

I total understand the ban, since most Americans don't pay attention to the main ingredient in soda which is "high fructose corn syrup". Research has shown high fructose corn syrup is as addictive as cocaine yet there are no laws regulating the use and quantity of it in food and beverages. High consumption of high fructose corn syrup has been proven to cause obesity and diabetes. There's not enough public education regarding this ingredient to enable consumers to make intelligent choices when consuming beverages and lobbyist lobby the government to make sure it stays this way.

I think this ban is ridiculous controlling the amount of soda and sweetened drinks people consume is wrong. Although sugary drinks can be detrimental to health, people have the right to control and live their own lives according to what they think is best. I like how this article has statistics and shows how many people don't agree with this outrageous ban.

Some believe that parents should take control what happen in their families. Those same parents wants the government to handle what happen with other and their lifestyles. The government is trying to decide how to control how a person gambles with or without the interenet. Who are we to tell someone when to gamble and how often to gamble. The internet is a freedom to do what we want to do in it. Each familiy should not be told what to search or what game to play when using the internet.

This goes on talking how gun violence ends with the gun owners not the providers of the guns.

Is it important to us that our government looks at our Metadata? The government work's hard to Prove that our privacy is safe however they take liberties when it comes to private Phone Communications. The information they gather is much larger then we think.

If they "need" to look at our metadata it makes me wonder what they're doing with all our information.

In this day and age this is to be expected, the government is all about control, and when it comes to phone calls or even the internet they will do their best to control these places. Not siding with the government Im just stating their poor reasonings for doing this.

Anybody with a record has a very hard time getting a gun. Law enforcers agree more on the right to bear arms rather than having our guns taken away. Taking them away does in fact take away our second amendment. Half of all suicides are from guns as well as 70% of all murders.

President Obama talks about how he will make a stand against gun violence making sure background checks are enforced . He mentions that America is dealing with sadness with school shootings and violence across the country wants to change that. President Obama's executive action to expand gun sale background checks has opened up a legal can of worms. Specifying he means that background checks were a joke before he came into office. If planned parenthood were to be defunded, it is predicted that the government would end up spending more in the long run on public assistance. Planned parenthood provides many services for women, one of them being birth control. Statistics in this article show that women who used birth control were easily able to finish school, find jobs, and create a steady life before having children. Defunding this organization would cost America more money in the bigger scheme of things.

The author believes planned parenthood is positive. It boosts the economy because those women have the chance to plan their pregnancies and prevent unwanted ones.

Gun activist that feel guns should have aban against them have it alll wrong, according to a University Professor. The debate should be about controlling access to firearms, rather than eliminating them and using market forces to drive up the price of weapons on the black market.

Long line are forming at gun shows. Many are anxious in buying a gun. However, many sellers are not require to preform a background check and many gun show sellers feel that this is the way it should be. Saying that the government shouldn't control who should purchase guns.

the article makes a comparison of the high death rate due to guns in Brazil and how they are similar to the U.S. The Brazilian government in 2003 passed a gun law that brought death by gun from 40000 to 34000 in one year. This is suggesting that the U.S. should follow suit.

The future of guns might have technology that would prevent them from firing if ever come in contact with the wrong person. Gun advocators feels this would be unconstitutional.
