I found this article to be very interesting in that it highlights the importance of transitioning and caring for the geriatric population. As part of my AGACNP program and future career i will be working with many elderly patients.

Probably posted before me. At any rate I'm attempting some effort here.

Personally I think NP residencies are a very important vehicle for transitioning into practice, and should be financially supported by the government the same way that medical residencies are supported!

Found this an interesting perspective because of the increasing demand for primary care providers.

I think it provides great insight into transitioning process of becoming an APRN. This article outlines the important areas in which to consider when accepting and working at your first job as an APRN. It compliments the panel today very well.

Hello Everyone, Module 3 instruction asked us to explore articles about our transition from student to APRN. As we discussed in class and from guest panel, I realized that mentorship is really important. While I was looking through emory DiscoverE about mentorship, I came across this article that highlights how important it is to clarify the term "mentorship" when I am talking to my potential employer because it can mean different for the employer. The article really highlights how important it is to find a set definition for the term "mentorship". If the link does not work, I have the article downloaded, but I cannot seem to attach it here.

This article reviews the importance and benefits of having a real strong and supportive mentor during that transition from student ARPN to practitioner. This is a hard time for many to adjust to and having a mentor is a key element for new practitioners to safely make the transition and to maximize their learning.

This article is an excellent resource for new graduate NPs to help them transition from student to proficient NP during the first year of practice. The article is from 3 different perspectives including patient, colleague, and clinic factors which all contribute to the transition period for new graduates.

This article describes the orientation process used in a pediatric cardiac center for APNs to increase confidence in skills, knowledge of role, mentorship, and NP retention during the first year of practice.
