    interdisciplinary teamwork
  •
This article discusses the challenges that come with teamwork in healthcare. Helpful in making you think about what you can do to make a team better.
  •
This article discusses how interdisciplinary teamwork is experienced at three levels: healthcare professionals, patients, and healthcare organizations.
  •
The points made by the author - reaching decisions collectively, making sure everyone is committed to the same purpose and goal, full participation, understanding the work of other disciplines - can be applied in any type of teamwork setting for successful outcomes. However, with healthcare the author points out that effective teamwork can lead to decreasing health care costs, improved patient safety, and decreasing workload through shared responsibilities. New law lets nurse practitioners get more involved - 1 views

  •
This article shares an experience of an NP in Nevada who had been trying to care for patients in under served areas but was having difficulty finding MDs to sign agreements with in those areas. This inhibited her ability to treat people in need but, thankfully, a new law was passed July 1 that enabled her to treat these people to the full extent her education taught her to, without having to rely on an agreement with an MD. It is important for us to remain aware of our scope of practice but also to fight for our ability to practice to the full extent we're being taught to do.

Impact out of how PCNP's in palliative care are making a positive and sometimes neutral (no negative) impact in healthcare and healthcare cost. There are better articles (from abstract alone), but no full length available for some reason via Emory Database/CINAHL/google (just not free/inaccessible).
