As I finish the reading for the final week, ch 27 is the most interesting. It really brings in the topics of politics that we visited last week in our class session. As future APRNs, we must be familiar with the different political climates and organizations that involve our profession. In ch 27- there are 3 efforts mentioned to move the agenda of NPs forward. 1) A creative collaborative effort to attract, educate, and graduate MSN prepared nurses. 2) NP's need to come together and stand united in the face of adversity, in particular when it comes to politics and policies that place barriers on our practice. 3) Support funds that help develop clear messages about what NP's do in the public (Sullivan, McGivern, Fariman, & Greenberg, 2010). To me these messages tie in the reading to what we heard in class very well. The main point here is that we all have to stand together and put forth funds and our voices in order to remove barriers to our practice!
