The above research article describes the perception of nursing professionals of varying levels of educational achievement of the education and role of DNP's through use of a cross sectional study.
To me, it demonstrates that not only is nursing nomenclature confusing to non-nursing individuals, even within our own field, we do not present with a united front about the roles of our doctorally prepared professionals. In order to grow as a profession, we need to standardize our education and support each other's educational achievement.
