As a result there are still many FNP's the work in hospitals because they were "grandfathered" in. When deciding upon a specialty and applying for jobs, it is important to remember that Acute Care NP's and FNP's now have different certification exams, scopes of practice, and work settings. This article helps explain some of the differences that much of the general population still does not understand.
