  •
The pictures are really cool but they look more like photoshop techniques more than things you can do just with the camera
  •
I really learned some cools things from this!
  •
All of these pictures are amazing; my favorite ones are the black and white pictures. I love taking picture in black and white. To me they tend to show more emotion depending on what your taking. The black and white pictures made me try to think of a connection between the picture and I.
  •

To DNG or Not to DNG? - Lightroom Killer Tips - 1 views

  •
This is an article against DNG, I liked it because it clearly goes through what the pros are of DNG but then goes on to say why they still don't like it. They feel that it is weird to throw away the raw files, and while they understand why and are not purely against DNG, they still prefer not to use it.

I feel like DNG is a good thing to do because your files are smaller. Also you do not lose any quality even though it is smaller.
  •
I agree that .DNG is a good thing. Its essentially a universal RAW file, but its 20% smaller which is pretty neat. Also you can view this file on any computer at anytime and it will have all of its meta data.
  •
Converting it to a DNG will make your file universal and smaller in size. It is worth converting to make your work flow a lot easier.
  •
To DNG is the answer. It slightly shrinks the raw file with ought loosing too much data so it is smarter to. Also, converts it from proprietary to a universal which i incredibly useful. DNGs also can be opened with any program which makes them an overall great file format.

David Griffin: How photography connects us | Talk Video | TED.com - 2 views

  •
A solid video explaining the importance of photography within our community.
  •
I like this because it's telling us why photography is more than just taking some nice pictures but how it's a beautifully unique way to show things and connect people. To me it's a way to tell a story. Or express emotions by letting others see exactly what you saw. And a lot of people don't understand the importance of these things.
  •
JorDAN, I can get the connection from the title. How does he do this? What point does he make that tells you why or how photo is important in our community?

Color - 2 views

  •
Our world is saturated in color, from soft hues to violent stains. How does something so intangible pack such a visceral punch? This hour, in the name of science and poetry, Jad and Robert tear the rainbow to pieces. Podcasts More To what extent is color a physical thing in the physical world, and to what extent is it created in our minds? We start with Sir Isaac Newton. Then, we meet a sea creature that sees a rainbow way beyond anything humans can experience, and we track down a woman who we're pretty sure can see thousands (maybe even millions) more colors than the rest of us. And we end with an age-old question, that, it turns out, never even occurred to most humans until very recently: why is the sky blue?

i hope that you find this short essay to be useful in your work on your significant object project
  •
That was a good read! I didn't need help at all on my object of importance sense I already knew what it would be in a heart beat. So if you already know your object of importance still give this a read its short and mind bending
  •
That was really deep and this type of stuff sorta reminds me of myself. I already knew what my object was but this is sorta the type of thing I would do.

Tom Thum: The orchestra in my mouth | Talk Video | TED.com - 3 views

  •
I chose this ted talk because this is a very unique type of "music". During his performance, the way he creates music makes you think of an image of exactly what type of music he plays
  •
I liked this one and I can't find any other ways to describe it other than it's very unique and interesting. It did sort of put images into my head which still amazes me how music is able to do such strange things like make me picture the emotion in the songs.
