Visusal art of musicians: John Mellencamp - 6 views

  •
John Mellencamp's visual art website. Mellencamp developed a style that fuses the aesthetic approaches of the German expressionists Max Beckmann and Otto Dix with that of American neo-expressionists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Francesco Clemente. His oil paintings combine portraits of everyday Americans with a cast of universally recognized symbols-hearts, guitars, targets, and crowns-and words such as "dreams," "blues," and "freedom."

His style is very unique and interesting. The exaggerated body parts look like it highlights a feature of them.

The way he contorts the Human body in his illustrations shows a certain type of emotion and mood the characters are portraying. I enjoy his style and artwork.

Will, are you the next art writer for City Newspaper or did you borrow some ideas (heavily ahem) from your source? Please cite your sources or give us your own observations. If this is your writing, you need to teach me what Neo-expressionism means. I have always wondered. Just kidding.

I was very impressed with the way the paintings made me think. They're very satisfying to look at and It was like the paintings were whispering those emotions until I really saw. Then it was like they were being told to me clearly.

The ancient Egyptian writing system, hieroglyphics, was advanced by 3100 B.C.E. The complex system included numbers and an alphabet as well as other symbols. None of the achievements of the remarkable ancient Egyptian civilization would have been possible without the Nile River. There is always a connection between landscape and how a people develop.
