I find this interesting, here is a link for the list of the best Internet in the world. Iceland is my choice. I discovered that beautiful country while watching "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." When I went looking for info on the country, this link is something that I found. Studying Emerging Media and Communications makes this article rather fascinating to me. Take a look. #emac6300 https://diigo.com/01hm1l
Interesting. Was just reading the preface for Rebecca MacKinnon's Consent of the Networked. She addressed the issues of Internet Freedom and how much of the Restrictions in China (and other countries) are directly or indirectly backed by policies, technical decisions made by governments and corporations in the democratic west. Such a gloomy thought but... In other news, I'm glad Kenya and South Africa made the list, for obvious reasons ;)
I too am glad for you and others I know that Kenya and South Africa made the list! :) I've been glossing over the same book you mentioned and I'm excited to learn more. #emac6300
This is definitely an interesting article to look at after the readings for this week, I am a little surprised that the United States is only fourth on this list because I feel like we have a lot of Internet Freedom. Although, it's interesting to think about if I think we have a lot of freedom here what the internet is like in Iceland, Estonia and Germany since they were ahead of the United States. #emac6300
