Banishing The Culture of Busyness - The Learner's Way - 0 views

At the start of each year we arrive back from our break hopefully rested and energised. The new year brings many new opportunities including new students, new team members and new teaching programmes. We begin again the climb up the hill with a fresh group of learners arriving at our doors full of excitement who will rely on us to meet their learning needs in the year ahead. All of this means we are at risk of starting the year with a certain level of panic. There is so much to do, our students are not accustomed to our routines, we don't know each other well, there are parents to meet, assessments to be done and before we know it we are back to being busy.

When you make your eyes big and point finger at them, you are showing that you don't believe in the divinity in them. In our opinion: Utah earns digital learning excellence | Deseret News - 4 views

"Utah emerges as the vanguard of the nation, with a 92.3 percent score, because the state has opportunities for students in all grades to access online courses, because it requires credit to be based on mastery of skills and content rather than on seat time, and because of its "Student Achievement Backpack," which creates a portable education record that follows the student from school to school - and gives parents the right and ability to securely access those records."
The life-long role of libraries - Stephen's Lighthouse - 14 views

"This graphic, http://www.minitex.umn.edu/Communications/Director/ shows the journey of a student from pre-kindergarten through the K-12 educational system and either into the workforce or on to a higher education institution. Along the way, school, academic, and public libraries are all available to provide services to the student and parents in support of learning and information literacy. This graphic was developed after attendance at various P-20 meetings where it seemed important to show that libraries play an important role throughout the life of students and adults. Minnesota libraries collaborate in sharing services and resources. Once in the workforce, information continues to be available through the public library for lifelong learning and recreation activities. Primary School is the foundation of a child's educational life. How is he/she going to perform and what kind of attitude he/she exposes towards receiving education depends completely upon the care and assistance one receives in their primary school level. So, it is the responsibility of every conscious parent to provide their kid with the best care and support during the most formative period of their life. To support them successfully and completely, enrolling them in a primary school is not the only thing you have to do. They need extensive care and only an efficient primary school tutor can create the environment which will enable them to learn, making it an extremely enjoyable act.
