Radioshack Egypt prohibited me from taking photos with my camera phone of a DSLR camera... - 0 views

There is nothing more stupid or frustrating. This is like going into a bookshop that bans reading. They shouldn't sell cameras. I don't carry a pen with me all the time and if I do I won't be carrying a note pad. I take photos of products to remember the name, model and price. No one will pay 5390 EGP without researching the bloody thing they are buying. And this is not the first time I take pictures of what I want to buy. Nor is it the first time I take photos inside Radioshack. Morons.

Wow. As if the debate around using ethanol to fuel cars weren't already complicated enough, now an Islamic scholar has suggested that driving or even riding in a vehicle fueled by ethanol could be considered a sin for observant Muslims. The opinion comes from Sheikh Mohamed al-Najimi, of the Islamic Jurisprudence Academy in Saudi Arabia. It is based on the part of Islamic law derived from a statement by the prophet in which dealing with alcohol in any form--including purchase, sale, transport, consumption, and manufacture--is strictly prohibited

Like the belief that you're just lucky when you're doing something, or that the flipping of a coin will be tails if you start with a heads. But the thing that is really difficult to swallow, especially when it comes out of highly educated people, is the belief that if you feel strong enough about something it will become true - disguised in aura and the law of attraction and all that beautiful and poetic nonesense.
