If you teach students about notetaking, this is one to listen to about modern notetaking. I love the tips and updates to the Cornell notetaking system for evernote.

This app is Life Noted and merges camera, video, notetaking and more. It was recommended to me as a notetaking/ capturing tool for observation in the classroom by teachers of students, but I think that anyone evaluating another person might benefit from this sort of tool. Capture your notes and the speech about the notes and share it. Very interesting idea. It is free right now.

Here's the link to Google's new notetaking service. Honestly, I used to depend on Google notebook. Because I've lost so much with Google lately, I don't want to go back and depend on something else I'll lose.

Markdown is a simple way to format text and is being used in many notetaking and to-do apps. I'm learning about markdown and came across this excellent article so you could learn more too.

This article describes the use of markdown in notetaking. I'm looking for information on using markdown in Evernote, but am not sure it is doable. It is funny how things come around. The reason people like markdown is it means that it saves you from lifting your hand up to touch the screen. The reason we touch the screen is because we got rid of the mouse. We got rid of the mouse because touching the screen was easier. We started using a mouse because it was too hard to remember all of the keyboard commands. But we are using markdown keyboard commands because it is easier and faster than touching the screen. ;-) Although this may be odd to some of you, it does point out that as you become more proficient, you can become more productive and markdown is one of those ways.

Take notes out of evernote and put them into a flashcard maker. Although the best student notetaking software, I believe, is and continues to be One NOte - the incredible apps and evernote trunk are attracting students because of how they help them study. The link up can happen and you can use studyblue to help you study on any type of device. I know this is memorization and "lower order" thinking but it is still a fact that it is part of learning today.

What's a good way to make video more meaningful & engaging besides notetaking? Here are some good suggestions.
