Magnetic Poetry kit for the internet: Storytelling site Storybird adds poetry app - 2 views

  •
Storybird, the Toronto-based website that lets users add text to professionally created art to tell a story, launched a poetry HTML5 app this week. The idea is somewhat similar to those Magnetic Poetry Kits: Users slide preselected words on top of artwork to create a poem.

I love using Pinterest, not only for cooking or fashion ideas, but also crafts and teaching tips for school. This website is a great way for teachers to share their ideas!
  • They’re using it to share quotes, lectures, notes, research material, get student or peer critiques, and more.
  • One of my favorite parts is toward the bottom where it lists out how exactly different universities are using Pinterest in the classroom (in the appropriately named ‘In The Classroom’ section).
  •
I love how this really makes you think outside of the box with using pinterest, and gives proof that it can be incorporate and is successful in the classroom!

This provides a great example of how Tagxedo can be used in education. You can use Tagxedo as a tool for attendance or just showing the students in a class. Because "Text size is determined by frequency," teachers will be able to differentiate between multiple names of kids in their classes.

Tagxedo is such a fun way for children to learn new things such as vocabulary and languages.

I really enjoyed making my own Biteslide presentation for homework...I know, I'm a geek. I think that's a pretty cool idea to turn the assignment into a competition; although I, personally, would hate to compete, because it took me forever to create my own--I'm too much of a perfectionist! :)
