WILMINGTON -- A tenured Widener Law School professor whom a faculty committee this month recommended against firing for using violent and potentially offensive imagery to describe a legal concept to his class is now facing a second formal inquiry on the same charges.

"SEAFORD - When 15-year-old Memoree Adkins saw the envelope, she knew what was inside. "I started jumping up and down," Memoree said. The eighth-grade student at Seaford Middle School was accepted into a new high school program called Delaware New Tech Academy at Seaford Senior High School. She hopes it will help her learn more about a career in graphic arts. Her mother hopes the program will engage and prepare her daughter so that she's able to have a positive high school experience."

"The students, mostly from China's rapidly expanding middle class, can afford to pay full tuition, a godsend for colleges that have faced sharp budget cuts in recent years. But what seems at first glance a boon for colleges and students alike is, on closer inspection, a tricky fit for both."

UW-Madison wants additional flexibility, therefore making it less of a public entity. Advantage: It wouldn't have to follow as many state regulations for "purchasing, building, personnel and tuition." It would still receive state funding, though.
