I was always a little apprehensive to start a blog, but it really was easier then expected. It would be fun to have students start a blog at the beginning of the year and see how it develops throughout the year. I also now feel more comfortable starting my own blog for parent communication.

My students are often surprised at how easy it is to set up a blog, Molly! I always utilized one when I taught 3rd and 4th grade. My students and parents loved it!

"With more than 82 million people texting regularly, it's no wonder you've seen this cryptic looking code! Commonly used wherever people get online -- including IMing, SMSing, cell phones, Blackberries, PDAs, Web sites, games, newsgroup postings, in chat rooms, on blogs -- these abbreviations are used by people to communicate with each other."
